Big Ten Conference Recognition For Ed Crowley |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
By Faye Thompson
The Big Ten Conference Sports Medicine Committee honored Ed Crowley
early in May. The committee is composed of
senior athletic trainers, primary care and orthopaedic physicians from
all conference institutions. The group has met
annually since the early 1970’s to share concerns and make
recommendations about student-athlete medical and health care related
issues.
Dr. John Albright and Denny Miller, Purdue Head Athletic Trainer,
presented Ed with a plaque that read:
For Edward T. Crowley
To recognize and thank you for many years of service and loyalty to
the Big Ten Conference and the University of Iowa as Head Athletic
Trainer and Football Athletic Trainer
1973-2004.
Ed’s transition on the University of Iowa campus from head athletic
trainer to senior physical therapist was acknowledged along with his
extensive service as a member of the Big Ten Sports Medicine Committee.
It was a special moment for Ed. Among
long-time sports medicine colleagues it was a respectful tribute,
befitting of his professional camaraderie and loyal friendship.

Congratulations to Jason Miller on his Men’s
Basketball Final Four appearance and championship as athletic trainer
for the Connecticut Huskies in San Antonio. Also, Jason will marry
Teresa Farmer this June 5th.
Congratulations to Eric Rasmussen on his Men’s Hockey, Frozen Four
appearance and championship as athletic trainer for Denver University.
Scott Street, athletic administrator at University of Texas San Antonio
did another excellent job in coordinating and managing yet another event
for the NCAA. This year Scott invited John Streif to be present and help
assist with some game management. A great experience for John in seeing
behind the scenes of such a large national event in a great city. Great
job Scott!
The University of Iowa Alumni Association will present 2004
Distinguished Alumni Award to Kent Falb on June 12. Please extend him
your congratulations at the NATA convention on this much-deserved award.
