Iowa Athletic Training August 22, 2010
If you are an Iowa Athletic Training student or staff member, you must
review the on-line courses at the following two sites
before August 22:
OSHA and
HIPAA for staff or
HIPPA for students. Staff can access HIPAA
training by going to their self-service and look under My Training.
Find ICON courses online and select HIPAA. Students need to go to
the Skillsoft website at Uiowa and login. Once logged in select
ICON courses under "Legal Compliance Curricula." The HIPAA Privacy
Rule video and test are under that section. On August 22, we will have an in-service training
OSHA session to submit for annual training.
The OSHA Training website is a pathway to training
on ICON for Employees and for Students. At the web page either
select UI/UIHC ICON Safety Training for Paid Employees or Non-paid Student/Guest
ICON Safety Training and you will be able to enroll
into an ICON course where you will find the "Bloodborne Pathogens
Modules" in the Contents section of the screen. For staff you
will be directed to your Employee Self-service website. Login and
then go to your Personal Page and under Learning and Development, select
"My Training." Then look at the Available Online ICON Sessions to
select Bloodborne Pathogens for Non-Lab W131BO. Students can only select "Bloodborne
Pathogens, Lab." Place your HawkID and your password in the
requested boxes. For both groups, after you finish the training
and the test, print off the Site Specific Training Checklist to bring
with you to the Training session on August 22. At the top of that
checklist Staff and GAs should put "Terry Noonan" as your supervisor.
Students should put "Dan Foster" as your supervisor.
Also, by linking to this next page (Plan in bold and red), you can view the
Current Exposure Control Plan for Iowa Athletic Training
at any time but the most current plan will be updated each year in early
August. Be
sure to print off the "FORM" when you have completed the testing module.
That form is to be completed at the Annual Training by you and Matt
Doyle will sign as the Departmental OSHA Training Officer. |
